Peggy McAllister Helton SALTVILLE, Va. Peggy McAllister Helton, age 68, went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 22, 2010. She was at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va. Peggy loved sports, and in 1998 she was inducted into the Virginia Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Nellie Blevins; and a son, Darrell McAllister. She is survived by son, Harold McAllister; granddaughters who she loved so very much, Jessica and Amber McAllister of Saltville; brother, Jack Blevins and wife Betty of Bristol Tennessee; two sisters, Mary Blevins of Saltville, Connie Sword and husband Ronnie of Saltville; several nieces and nephews. Peggy loved her pets, CC and Dixie, her dogs, and Little D and Bo Bo, her cats. Harold would like to thank everyone involved with caring for his mother. Special thanks to, Jackie and Doug French, Linda and David Taylor, Revonda Surber, Cheryl Boardwine, the staff at Johnston Memorial Hospital, the dialysis staff at Abingdon and Valley Health Care, Saltville Rescue Squad, and Dr. Ernest Henry whom Harold will never forget. Memorial services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2010, at Henderson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 Monday prior to the service or at Harold's home at any time. Online condolences may be made at drhendersonfuneralhome.com D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, Va., is serving the family.
