Jeanette Marie Larkin

Jeanette Marie Larkin went to be with her Lord and Savior July 18, 2008 surrounded by loved ones. She was born October 5, 1917 to Erik and Marie (Sterr) Talberg in Fallon, MT. Following high school she attended the University of Minnesota for nurses training in St. Paul. It was there she met her husband Dick Larkin. They were married January 11, 1941, and eventually moved to Bellingham in 1948. Jeanette enjoyed fishing, trailer traveling and beach combing (she had quite the collection of beach glass). Her favorite places to travel were Death Valley, Whidbey Island, Alaska, and Rockport in Skagit County. She also enjoyed visiting her cousins (she had 52!) and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. All who knew her were blessed by her love and service to others. She had a wonderful, teasing sense of humor, and never seemed unhappy. Jeanette's message to her family and friends is a poem by an unknown author: When my spirit and my body go their separate ways, I want no mourners Only celebrators. If someone by a campfire or a lake or a mountain will recall a thought of me and smile It is enough If someone younger learned of love from me and passed that on Then I still live Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Vernon Talberg. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Richard "Dick" Larkin, sons William "Bill" Larkin and wife Karen, and Pat Larkin and wife Graal; grandchildren Annette (Martin) Rosas, Lori Nowitski, Brandon Larkin and Darren Larkin; great-grandchildren Brandie Larkin, Tiffany Mulford, KyIe Nowitski, Aaron Nowitski, Mariah Rosas, and Austin Rosas. The Family would like to thank Gracie Thornton, Robin O'Grady, and hospice for their loving care of Jeanette.
