On the day I met Penelope, we were at the Catskill Mountain House site, with another friend. We planned a picnic.
As we began unwrapping the things we brought to share, I marveled at all the beautiful food that Penelope had brought to our gathering. We sat on a blanket overlooking the valley and enjoyed wonderful conversation and realized that we both had a love for restoration. I feel it bonded us instantly. I enjoyed visits to her home, going over thoughts and ideas for things she wanted to improve upon. I treasured her friendship.
On the day I took this photo, she and one of her good friends were looking over the mountain´s edge, looking for the Saugerties lighthouse in the distance. When I saw that pose, it made me think of Thomas Cole´s painting, Kindred Spirits. I gifted her with a canvas print of this photo and the next time I visited, it was there on the wall. I´m so glad I captured this moment in time and that I had time getting to know her. My condolences to her family, at this time, of great loss.

I knew Penny as a customer at the transfer station. I wondered why I had not seen her lately. One day she came in and her pants were ripped in the back. I said Penny your pants are ripped, she said is it sexy? Of course I said yes, very. We had a good laugh. She was a cool woman, I'll miss seeing her. Condolences to her family

Deepest condolences to the Milford family and friends. I was lucky enough to be in the Broadway cast of ''Shenandoah'' and to play ''Sam'' to her ''Jenny'' in the Wolftrap production in 1976. Working with her was like a class in acting. She was not just brilliant, she had a huge heart, gave generously of herself onstage and off. She was a luminous spirit and the world is a little less bright without her.
