Penelope 'Penny' Sims, 45

SELMA, ALABAMA - Penelope "Penny" Sims, formerly of Dover, passed away in a tragic car accident early Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008. She was 45. While living in Dover, Penny worked for P & F Cycle Salvage and later at Delaware EZ Pass. Penny was a charter member of the Irish Mike's family and was known and loved for her warmth and sense of humor. Penny had a unique ability to make friends with everyone she met and to make all around her feel at ease. She loved animals and her gifts of tenderness and compassion once helped her to restore the ability to walk to a once paralyzed little dog. She leaves behind her only daughter, Brittany Holland, to cherish her memory. Penny is survived by her husband, Mike Sims, also formerly of Dover; her mother, Mary Sims; her three brothers; and a large extended family in Alabama. Penny will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will take place Friday at the Selma Funeral Home, 5171 Alabama Hwy. 22, Valley Grand, Ala., where friends may call from 10 to 11:30 a.m. A memorial service will follow.
