I first met Per when I was about 6 years old. He was here in Utah staying with his cousins (my mother is his 1st Cousin) and Uncle, Torleif Knaphus and his family. I will attach a couple photos of him Skiing with the cousins and I remember well a few days that I was also invited to be with them. We visited Per and Gloria on a couple occasions while we were in the Seattle area. They and Per's sister, Liv, came to Salt Lake to a Cousins Social that my mother, Marie, hosted. We were fortunate enough to have been there also because Mom asked us to Video the occasion and invited us to get to know her Knaphus cousins from all parts of the country and even from Norway. Janice and I visit Per and Gloria while at an area Professional meeting held in Seattle. When his cousin, my mother passed away, he called and left a nice message for us about her. I called him back and we continued an enjoyable sharing time. We had a couple conversations with him on the phone in late Summer and his mind really seemed quick and alert. We feel so badly that we missed visiting Per again recently before he passed away. We told him in September that we wanted to get up there and visit him. We were looking forward to it and it seemed like he was also as we chatted by phone.
May you, his children and grandchildren, know of our love for your father and grandfather. As we have visited his homeland and shared some time with Liv, we bonded with the country and family in which we all have roots.
