Jeanerette, LA-----Percy Kenneth Arthur, Jr. was born on Tuesday, November 21, 1939 to the union of the late Percy Kenneth Arthur, Sr. and Rita Joe Arthur in Jeanerette, La. He attended school in Iberia Parish. Even though his education was limited he was wise beyond his years.
On September 20, 1958, he married the former Annie McGilber, whom preceded him in death. They lived many years in Houston, TX prior to him relocating back to Jeanerette, LA. Being a hard worker, he was employed in many capacities, but finally retired as a swamper at a local brick company. He was a rolling stone, a jokester and a fancy dresser down to the “nines.” Prior to his heath declining, he regularly attended First Church of God in Christ, Bishop James Proctor, pastor.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Pierre McGilber; five siblings, Pastor Lillie Lockette, Larry Linton, Sr., Floyd Linton, Claude Linton, Sr. and Vernice Arthur; father and mother-in-law, Ennis and Corine McGilber, and a nephew, Derrick Wise. He worked in my father's brickyard off and on for many years. As a young man he helped a taught me how to work hard and was always a great humor

I don’t have a lot to say about Percy because I never got the chance to know him. I wish I had the opportunity to know him like my sister Teri, because I heard he was a hoot. To the rest of the family, be encouraged and rest assured that he is no longer suffering. May God’s peace and favor continue to rest upon you.
