I was deeply saddened to hear of Perry's passing. I remember listening to his show long into the night. His warmth as a talk show host was in sharp contrast to so many others today. Always a gentleman, never political. I only wish I had the opportunity to get to know him personally. I met so many people who were fortunate enough to know him and all spoke very highly of him.

Just found out of Perry's passing. Have not heard his voice in a long time, but will never forget how it reached with warmth through the bitter cold Iowa nights and filled the room with friendship. He was the best. Kent Cook, Waverly, IA

Perry Marshall and his family meant a lot to me growing up. I enjoyed being a part of their extended family. We all had some fun times! That house on Pine St was my favorite and it had such a great layout and oh what a beautiful yard.

Farewell Perry Marshall and I hope you are without pain and in a wonderfully altered state of mind.

Dear Robin,
Even though your dad's passing causes some grief, nevertheless it causes me to fondly remember how warmly your family embraced me when I became principal at Allderdice. How comforting you all were and encouraging even to the extent of having community meetings at your home. I regret I did not keep in touch with you because you, your dad, mom and sister will always be remembered for being so supportive and inspirational to me.

Oh my, could he tell a story. I only got to know him personally four years ago through a weekly card game, but it feels like I've known him many more. He was just as kind, funny and knowledgeable as I knew from listening to him off and on throughout his radio career. That man, with that distinctive voice, will surely be missed around here.

I worked with Perry at WTAE radio in the late 60s or early 70s when he was doing the morning show. I always liked his sense of humor and endless stories. He was a real professional and will be missed.

Farewell to a wonderful gentleman, a great colleague, and a mentor of mine. From the days I watched you as a kid at the WEEP Studios on Highland Avenue to the days I had the honor to work with you at WJAS, you were a hero to me. You still are, and always will be. You were a beloved member of thousands of Pittsburgh area families. Rest in Peace, Perry.
