I grew up with Pete on Simpson Street, Bronx, New York. He was a reserved man dedicated to his family. He loved his craft. Pete´s brother Manny got me into the clubs so I wouldn´t have to pay. (LOL).
Eddie Palmieri sends his condolences to his family. He has many fond memories of him. We were to hear about his passing. May he Rest In Peace.

My condolences to Pete Rodriguez´s family and most definitely I must say that his music inspired me to always stay proud of my Puerto Rican roots and to never forget the contributions we made along our Cuban brothers and all of Latinos that put their grain of salt to the movement that exploded and went international with dance, rhythm and song.´I like it like that´ has been sampled by many artists and this song will never go old especially with its fresh sound from real instruments that were played which give it a more rustic and real sound from when technology was right in the instrument.I love technology but live music will always give that different rich sound that can´t compare to techno created music;all in all my respects and a salute to you and much strength and comfort to the family. He will never be forgotten.

My condolences to Pete´s family on their loss. Pete Rodriguez and his Orchestra played many summers at my parents summer resort, Villa Sunny Acres in the 1960´s in upstate Plattekill New York. I would sit on the piano bench as he jammed way. Always kind.. I remember this day still 60 years ago
