Peter P. Bobinski

Peter P. Bobinski, 90, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2018 at Loomis House in Holyoke. He was born on November 2, 1927 to Walter and Helen (Bartosinski) Bobinski of Chicopee, MA. He was raised in Chicopee, attended local parochial schools, and graduated from Cathedral High School. Peter enlisted in the Navy and served aboard the USS Tanager, attaining the rank of Yeoman First Class. He graduated from American International College with a degree in Business Administration. Peter was co-owner of Zelazo’s Poultry, Inc. in West Springfield. Peter was a Fourth Degree Knight and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 69 in Chicopee, and a lifetime member of the Chicopee Lodge of Elks Lodge 1849. He also served as a Director of the Polish National Credit Union for many years. Peter leaves his beloved wife of 64 years, Frances (Zelazo). Besides his wife, Peter leaves his loving daughter, Francine Bigda and her husband, Michael of West Springfield; his cherished grandson, Michael C. Bigda, and his wife, Lauren of Norfolk, Virginia; nephew, Edmond J. Ciejek and his wife, Cynthia of West Springfield, and his great-niece Nadine Reim and her husband, Daniel of Oklahoma. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Mary Janik and her husband, Walter. Friends and family are requested to meet for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, 566 Front St. in Chicopee, on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 10 am. Interment will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Stanislaus School Educational Fund, 534 Front St. Chicopee, MA 01013.
