Doug and I were shocked and saddened to hear of Peter's death. We wish we could have joined you at the service for him. We offer you all, our support. He will be missed. As an old school friend and lately a reaquainted friend we had deep respect for all he did in his too short life and also for the happiness he brought to those we care about. May he rest knowing that he made a meaningfull contribution to many lives.

My sincere condolences to Peter's family....I knew Peter at YMCA Camp Howdy many years ago and still remember his wonderful voice around the campfire circle. I tried to find him several times over the years but could find no internet references at the time. I was about to try again as there will be another camp reunion 2 years from now. I regret we never connected again. He still lives of course in all our memories of him.

Auntie Barb, I'm so sorry to hear about Peter. I never got to meet him, but I have heard how amazingly happy you were together. Please know that you are so loved and I'm praying for you on this side of the pond. Love Teri.

Peter,

Ever since i first knew you when we were in scouts together (and Don was scoutmaster), seeing you again has always been a pleasure to look forward to. You taught me some simple things, like how to strip the paint from a windowsill with a heat gun; and some things i still have to learn, like how to always be good humoured and good natured. One thing neither of us could do was stay awake after a gourmet dinner at each other's houses.

You had so much pride in your sons; they will miss that but then will remember that it's always there.

So long old friend.

Our heartfelt prayers go out to each one who has been so deeply, personally touched by the loss of Peter in their lives. Over thirty years apart, and I can still hear the sound of his laughter as I read the words of the beautifully written tribute. We were not privileged to spend the time with him that others did, but we love so many of you in so many different ways. We pray that, with the reuniting of friends and family from all parts of the globe, will come strength, comfort, encouragement, hope. We pray that his vibrant spirit and zest for life will fill each one and bring all together in a celebration of life, and love. With you in spirit - the Toronto cousins, Maureen and John Monk.

Graham (Alexa), Douglas (Stacie), Barbara Brealey and the many others:

With deepest sympathy for the loss of Peter, we wish you comfort in your time of sorrow. Words cannot help to ease the loss you bear, and words cannot express the sadness we feel. Please just know that you are very close in our every thought and in our every prayer. We can only hope that the love of those around you and the warmth of fond memories will help you all through.

Peter was such a kind and generous soul whose humor and zest for life brought joy and light to those who were fortunate enough to cross his path. John and I have such deep sorrow that Peter’s grandsons Jack (our nephew), and Bradley and Cameron will not have the pleasure of these experiences and memories.

We bid farewell to Peter Bodel, and we convey our deepest sympathy to the many family and friends grieving this loss.

Love from Lyndsay Shaw (Graham’s sister-in-law) and John Rahman

Barbara and Family, I didn't know Peter, but my heart goes out to you and your family for your deep loss. I know no words can help in a time like this, but please know that our thoughts are with you. From all of us here at C2 Media.

Peter - you shall be missed. We studied together at UBC and I will always remember your infectious smile, quick wit and great sense of humor. Although distance separated us through the years, it was always fun to get together with the "crew" and catch up on each others lives. My deepest sympathy to all of the members of your family. Both you and they are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Peter,

There are so many wonderful memories over the years...of you...and me...for which I am eternally grateful. May God hold you in the palm of His Hand until we meet again. My hope is that you are finally reunited with your Mom and Dad. Love and gratitude, Shelagh

Peter was a real gentleman. We worked together in the same office in North Vancouver. What really struck me about Peter was his devotion to his family. He was so proud of his new grand children and loved to show all his recent pictures.

He had a great sense of humour, enjoyed socializing in the office....(liked homemade cookies) and always had a good word.

In this past year or so he seemed to spend a lot of time tracing his past in terms of memories and people.

My thoughts are with you Barb and family as you reminisce, celebrate what were the good times, the special memories, but also grieve the loss of a very good friend
