Thank you Lord for Peter Bowen.... and may you bless his wife daughter and family. You protected me at Immaculate Heart, you protected me at Holy Cross, you protected me at NOPD. Thank you Peter Bowen, we were best friends every time we met in life.

It is said that only the good die young. How painfully true in this case. Beth and Erin, you have been in my thoughts and prayers these past weeks. Please know you will remain there.

Pete, Amy and I are much better people for having known you and your family. We met so many new friends because of you. When you met Pete you were only a stranger once. You were the only guy I know besides my childhood friends that called me Tommy. Thanks broter for having included us in all of your crazy events from being invited to your retirement, to NYE to Derby and Masters brunch. Those are good times we will always remember and well worth the trip from Chicago. Beth and Erin we love you guys and are thinking of you in these very difficult times.

How do you thank someone for being a wonderful, loyal, and generous friend? Pete you were all of that and more. On behalf of all your friends in the NYPD, The NYC PBA, and of course The NYPD Emerald Society, thank you for touching our lives and making it so much better. On a more personal note our mutual friend Mr. P.Y.is heartbroken over tragic untimely loss. You rescued P.Y. from darkness and despair and returned him home and we will be forever grateful. I love you Pete. With deepest sympathy and love to Beth and Erin, RIP.

Beth and Erin,I am so sorry for the loss of Pete. Even though I only got to see him once a year, his presence filled the room with his stories. From where to find the best burger (we seem to have this discussion every year at the party lol), stories of celebrity sightings at the Boondock Saint, crazy happenings from his time at NOPD, to the story of the Saints winning the Super Bowl, I loved his enthusiasm and humor. He will be missed and remembered by all he met, knew and loved. Peace be with you and Erin. With Love, Jennifer

When Pete and I enjoyed some libations and a cigar some years ago, I remember feeling like I've known him my whole life. Such a special person - our thoughts and prayers are with you Beth and Erin

From one Irishman to another, I love you Brother.

"Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die."
