Peter Bowman Obituary
Born in Gaithersburg, MD on March 7, 1957, Pete was the youngest son of the late John and Nancy (Diamond) Bowman. Pete attended the University of Delaware, where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master's Degree in Computer Science. Pete would also meet the love of his life there, Mindy, in marching band. Pete worked as a software manager at tech companies for most of his career and found his dream job early at N2K developing the software for Music Boulevard, one of the first websites to offer piracy-protected singles for direct download. In the last eight years he ensured, as he said, that "the good people of Chester County had their liquor," as an employee of the Fine Wine and Spirits in East Bradford.
Known for his absolute devotion to his family, charming wit, and allegiance to the Philadelphia Phillies, Pete enjoyed racquetball, spending time with loved ones, cooking, word games and family trips to Bethany Beach and the Outer Banks. Pete also adopted and supported the hobbies and passions of those he loved - be it a decades-long pool tournament with his son, Chris, or attending countless classical musical concerts featuring Mindy or his daughter, Jess.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Mindy; children, Jessica Villante (Chris) of Horsham, PA, Chris Bowman of Washington, DC; grandson Connor Villante; brothers Douglas and David Bowman, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Pete is preceded in death by John and Nancy Bowman, and brother Darby Bowman.
A celebration of life with be held November 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 10 West Pleasant Grove Road, West Chester, PA.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pete's memory may be made to Fox Chase Cancer Center at Foxchase.org

Was looking up east coast people I knew on Linkedin and could not find Pete Bowman's profile so I googled only to learn he passed away 2023.... Pete's best friend from youth, my ex-husband Todd Palmer, also passed away 2017 and never made his bucket list trip to Alaska. So I am glad Pete did make it to Alaska! Thank you BOTH Pete and Mindy for many fun game nights when Chris and Jess were little and we would wait for Pete or Mindy to finish reading the kids bed time stories and tucking them in! I remember when Chris was age 3 he lost his shoe in a tunnel slide in some park we took your kids to visit. Glad Todd and Pete were such good friends that met as teenagers at the beach!

I met Mindy and Pete in UD marching band where Mindy and I both played piccolo! I remember Pete for his sarcasm and funny stories! He always had us laughing! He will be greatly missed!

We will always hold special memories of our time spent together. From Phillies games, well, sometimes Pirate games, game nights, where we would laugh until the tears rolled down our faces, dinners out, barbecues, Rhine River Cruise, day trips, the list goes on.

Like Pete and Mindy, my husband and I met in the Marching Band at Delaware. I have also known Mindy for most of our lives, as our fathers worked together at UD. I am so so sorry to hear of Pete's death. He was a wonderful husband and father, and lived his life to the fullest. My heart and prayers are with Mindy and the family at this sad time.
