My deepest condolences to Peter's family.
He was the definition of the salt of the earth to me. A person who was always ready to help others; always ready with a smile and a friendly word; always appreciative of all the people he knew. I can't imagine a single person who knew him not being greatly saddened by his passing. Rest in peace and know you are missed, Peter.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
Peter shared this quote on his Facebook page.
He was, hands down, among the kindest souls to have entered this world.
Peter's boisterous presence will live on in so many hearts and minds.
My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Thank you, Peter, for your friendship and your good nature. Everyone at Crossroads Music enjoyed seeing "Mr. Vintage" come through the door and spend time hanging out, discussing the topic of the moment. I am glad to have known you and I am thankful for sharing various missions together, like going to hear George Martin speak at Harvard. While it is hard to let you go, I, along with so many others, have a big smile on my face with the fondest memory of the way you were....all heart...

Sweet Peter! What a shame to lose you so soon. Peter was one of the nicest men I've ever met. To say he would give you the shirt off his back isn't enough - he would go home, pick the best shirt in his closet and give you that one! Peter would often stop by our office in Widener whenever he was in Harvard Square and make the rounds giving hugs and usually home made cookies. He referred to us as an extension of his family. The feeling is more than mutual. I'll miss you.

Peter, I'll remember you as always being upbeat and gentle and kind. It was a pleasure working with you at the Library...loved your stories about vintage cars, rock and roll, England. Rest in peace, my friend. The world will miss your light. My condolences to your family.

Peter was not just our colleague here at the Harvard Library. He was our dear friend. Caring, kind, funny, outgoing, genuine. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word.
A few weeks ago I had a conversation with Peter about a Latin phrase I wanted to have engraved on my mother's tombstone. He really liked the sentiment behind it. I never dreamed I'd be writing it here now in his honor.
Sit tibi terra levis.
"May the earth rest lightly upon you."
My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.

Kind, funny, outgoing. He lived a life full of interests, hobbies and 'likes' which made him a joy to be around. One of the very few who believed in respect and especially loyalty. He was a gem and it was an honor to know him.

Farewell Peter. You are one of the gentlest human beings I have ever met. So kind, generous, helpful ... "May God illuminate your soul" as we say in Armenian.
