Dr. Citrone was the best. I was only 18 at the time, away from home when my appendic blew up. His bedside manner was wonderful. I'm very sorry for your loss & hope all of the wonderful memories help you thru these difficult times.

Dr Citrone saved my mother's life nearly 30 years ago at West Penn Hospital. He was always her favorite doctor. Ironically, I lost my mom on March 24th; may you find peace and comfort knowing that he touched the lives of so many.

My sincere sympathies to the Dr. Citrone's family. He was one of the best general surgeons that I have ever had the opportunity to work with. He was an excellent teacher, wonderful surgeon and a kind compassionate man. I worked in surgery at West Penn Hospital with him for 10 yrs. Dr. Citrone made those years a wonderful learning experience. May God Bless and comfort you at this difficult time.

My deepest sympathies are extended to the famiily of Dr. Citrone. He was not only a superb surgeon, but also a fabulous teacher. Many years ago, he taught me surgery at West Penn. His knowledge, skill, and compassion served as a beacon to emulate. I remember the one instance when I attempted to finesse a difficult question he had posed. He simply looked at me, gently shook his head, and said "I expected better." I have never attempted to finesse a difficult issue since. He was a "father" figure to me and many of my peers. It is with great sadness that I write these words; however, at the same time, I celebrate his life and know that he will always be a part of me just as he is a part of you. Again, my deepest sympathies...may God deliver peace and a gentle demeanor to you all.

Dear Mickey and children; I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Citrone.. I have such fond memories of him after working for the practice for 13 years. He was truly a wonderful, giving man and I often looked towards him for "fatherly" advice during those years. We exchanged Christmas cards since that time and I was also happy to receive one from him. He will certainly be missed by the many people that were fortunate enough to know him.
You are all in my prayers.
