Peter was the best "summer dad" a young black kid from NYC could ask for. He will be truly missed! Love you, Peter.

Peter was my professor at SUNY Albany in 1976. He changed my life. He is the reason I became a professor (I am also an International Relations academic). Best professor I ever had. Sweet and brilliant. He made his students so comfortable that I invites him to my apartment for dinner. Of course he came. Rest easy, my mentor.

Thank you for this beautiful obituary. I was one of his students at Simon´s Rock. I swooned at the way he spoke about his wife Joan, with such devotion and respect. I am thankful for his introduction to political science as a 16-year-old African-American girl in 1985. His enthusiasm was contagious. Thank you for sharing more about him. I hope you find comfort in the memory of your lives together.

First, dear Joan, my heart goes out to you for your husband and soul mate Peter's passing. After reading your beautiful and extensive memorial to him it fleshes out what I only intuited about this amazing and understated man.

I had the pleasure to interact with Peter through the vehicle of Table Tennis/Ping Pong. His joy was so clear. And his focus and desire to learn align with what you've stated about his life.

I honor Peter's soul and his journey. He graced your life and that of so many others. His presence, will live on in the lives of those he has mentored, inspired and delighted.
All my best,
Noel

When I think of Peter I remember his slightly crooked grin and wicked dry wit which never ceased to amuse me and all those around us. He was a kind soul, a wonderful conversationalist, and a great neighbor.

I am truly sorry, Joan, for the loss of a soul mate. He was special.

Peter..
A full, well-lived life. And no doubt a life well-loved. Never got to know you that well, but respected, admired and appreciated all you did for our "little agricultural village". You truly helped make it a better place.
RIP worldly man.... you will be missed.
