In memory of

December 7, 2017
Nora, I have not seen Pete since 1963, the year I was married, but we had been great friends in high school. I am very sorry to learn of his passing, and, too, the note from Ursla Huff about Steve, who was also a close high school buddy.
I hope that you can recover from your loss, and find solace from friends and family.
Sincerely, Dexter Gormley

Dear Nora,
I am so sorry to hear of Peter's death, a grand man, and yours for more than 52 years.
We had good times, sharing a third leg in the 3-legged race, enjoying overnights with your dear family and your horse Lady Mary, at Elmhurst and Manhattanville together. [Elmurst is mentioned in my novel, Murder with Kayaks; do you remember Mrs. Appleby and Mrs. Hadley?] We shared a way of life that has vanished.
May I take you to lunch this summer to catch up? We live in the Florida Keys and Westbook, CT, and camp at Myakka--not far from Bradenton.
Love
Elia Vallone Chepaitis

Dear Nora,
What made me think of Peter this week and look for him on the web? Surely he is sending thoughts my way.
We met only once when Steve and I visited you in Rhode Island. I had heard Peter stories for years and feel so blessed to have met him. He was obviously sending thoughts to Steve that day who was obsessed about visiting his grade school friend. You were so kind to put up with our last minute visit.
Steve has developed Alzheimer's Disease and moved to a facility nearby three years ago. I'll tell him of Peter's passing though I don't think he'll understand. But it's comforting to know they had those few precious minutes together.
My love to you, whom I try to emulate everyday as I continue on this caregiving adventure.
Much love,
Ursla Huff

Dear Nora,
Please accept my condolences & sympathy. I read the obits this morn & read about Peter.
I live in Narragansett (T. Moore parish) and also went to Archbishop Stepinac HS, graduating in 1967 and grew up in White PLains, parish Our Lady of Sorrows.
We have never met but we have a connection.
Peter seemed like a great guy, teacher & coach.
Regards, John R. Carbon, Narragansett
