Peter Scott de Blonk, Jr. of Emporia was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. He was 35. We have lost a son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and a great friend. In his short time with us PJ touched many lives. His laugh was contagious, and he smiled all the time when he was with his family.
PJ was born on May 27, 1987, in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Peter and Tammy de Blonk. PJ was born happy go lucky with a huge personality. From the start people knew who he was. PJ attended Emporia Christian School where he was known by all students, teachers, and the principal. PJ earned his associates degree in Industrial Engineering Technology at Flint Hills Technical College. He could fix just about anything. He worked at Dolly for several years and that’s where he met the love of his life. He married Guadalupe Pahuamba on September 22, 2012, at Victory Fellowship Church in Emporia. PJ loved his wife and their daughter, Juliana. Juliana and her 2 dogs were PJ’s constant companions; always by his side.
He is survived by his wife Guadulupe de Blonk of Emporia; daughter, Juliana de Blonk of Emporia; parents, Peter and Tammy de Blonk of Emporia; sisters, Amy (Tin) Hinst of Emporia, Jessica Hinkle of Emporia; and Megan (Daniel) Pazos of Richmond, Texas, brother Kyle (Yomaira) de Blonk of Emporia; nieces and nephews Izabela, Luka, and Christian Hinst, Jace, Gracyn and Max Hinkle and Sofia and Daniel Pazos.
He is preceded in death by his brother Alex Scott de Blonk.
PJ was a proud business owner. He and his wife owned and operated Mr. Goodcents and Bruffs. He was a member of Victory Fellowship Church where he was dedicated to the Lord as a child. PJ volunteered his time and talents to Abundant Harvest, Emporia Christian School and anyone that asked.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Victory Fellowship Church with burial following at Evergreen Cemetery. The visitation will be Friday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Victory Fellowship Church, Emporia. Memorial contributions can be made to the PJ de Blonk Family Fund can be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, Kansas 66801.

Pete, Tammy, and all family members,
I was so sad to hear of your loss. Words cannot express how difficult it is to lose someone that you love so much. May God comfort you all in the many difficult days ahead. My favorite teacher memories are of my years at Emporia Christian School and the students that touched my life. PJ had a kind and tender heart. Sending a hug.

A great loss for the family and to Emporia. The businesses he took over reflected him. The people who worked for him were personable, nice, and ready to help you. He made the business a good place to come to. He will be greatly missed. Our prayers are with you.

I'm so very sorry to hear of PJ's passing. I remember him as an ornery little kid running around Mr Goodcents when I worked there. I got to visit with him a while back when he looked at a a vehicle we were selling. His family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.
