Dear Lena and family, I was in Canada this weekend and thought of the Dueck family. My sister Joanie did a Google search and found this guest book for Peter. As a child of John and Martha Friesen, the Dueck family has been important to me and it's so sad to have lost touch these past years.
Remembering Peter is very important to us. I will be talking with my mother about him and recalling memories, especially from Chilliwack and the friendship -- lots of thoughts of my Dad and Peter. Now they can see each other in heaven. May God be with the whole family.

Dear Lena and family,

You might remember me as a close business associate of Peter's during the 80s and 90s. I became an extremely close friend of Ken's since that time. I thought very highly of Peter and considered him a mentor to me. His love of Jesus and how that showed up in his everyday business was just such a gift of trust and faith. He taught me so much.

I know you will miss him terribly, but you have the joy and confidence of knowing that you will one day be reunited with him and he will have a renewed mind and body and you both will be able to fellowship every day in Paradise with our Lord Jesus.

God bless you.

Dear Mom and family,
What a legacy that Dad has left us. He lived his life fully and with purpose, integrity and love; serving all of us – his family, his community, his business and his missions and ministries. We who are left behind, are given two gifts; the joy of the memories of his life and the challenge to carry the Light that he lived for – to live meaningful lives that count for Jesus, that count for eternity. In Dad's memory, a scholarship in his name has been given to the ministry of his granddaughter, Lauren Dueck, at the University of Chicago.

with deep love,

Mrs. Dueck & Family, Our thoughts and prayers during the days to come as you remember a great man who also meant much to so many. We thank God for the way you folks influenced and touched our lives by your godly example. Condolences also from my dad Ted Bergren who appreciated so much the work that Mr. Dueck did as board member at BBC. Harvey & Marilyn Zink

Lena & family:

May the peace and comfort of God sustain you during this time of loss.

I recall my early days on staff with Campus Crusade when Peter and Lena would have the staff over to your house to encourage, motivate and suggest activities that would build God's kingdom. Peter always was always encouraging with an "what if" attitude. His was a life lived to the full.

In His hands.

"Dear Lena and family: Peter's passing brought a flood of memories. Our times together for Bible Study in our home; his involvement in our Seniors' New Horizons gatherings at Willingdon Church; Peter's contribution to providing electricity for the Durami Bible School and School of Mission in Ethiopia and his enabling me to revisit there. I am especially grateful for his love for God and his concern for people." Ralph Jacobson (North Vancouver, BC)

Lena and family:

We recall Peter's and your years of encouragement, on the personal level and in work.

Our linkages were at BC Christian News, where Peter's business and spiritual acumen combined in the early 90s to give the newspaper the additional years of life it needed to serve its community.

We wish you God's close presence in these days of loss, and an awareness that Peter is more alive than he has ever been.

God's best,

Lloyd and Edna Mackey

Dear Lena and family,
May you know the Lord's grace and strength in these days of remembrance and celebration of Peter's life. His encouragement to the leaders and work here at Briercrest is deeply appreciated. His vision and willingness to find a way to build and extend the work of the school is certainly one of his many legacies. To be sure, the Hildebrand Chapel is one of those legacies, and as I watch if filled with activity this weekend at Youth Quake, I am deeply grateful for Peter's leadership here. Of course this is just one of many places where Peter's vision and work continues on. We join you in celebrating Peter's life and legacy.
