I am so sorry to learn of PJ's passing. I first met him when he was a Life Guard at the Northcliffe pool in the 80's. Over the years my friends and I would randomly run into him at C&W clubs in San Antonio, the mall, etc. Then reconnected through Facebook a few years ago. He was always so nice and funny! When I saw him I'd always say, Kajagoogoo!! He played that music at the pool all the time. Whenever I hear that band on the radio I think of him. My condolences to his family.

PJ, im honored to have known you in our childhood in Live Oak. You always cheered us up no matter what was going on in our lives, from Kitty Hawk football to when we worked together at Volvo after highschool i will never forget you and your bright shinning spirit. You inspired all of us more than you will ever know. Our prayers and thoughts are with you my brother as you live in our hearts forever. Class of 83.

Saddened understates the loss of PJ as we find our world not as bright; our laughs do not come as easy; and our drink not as satisfying. His memory will help assuage our feelings today ...for me, he's smiling wide in the middle of telling a story and sporting Vans without socks.

To Cathy and Marion:
I could not have been more shocked to hear this news. My sincerest condolences to you both and many prayers of comfort are sent your way. Some of my fondest memories of my children growing up in Live Oak especially at the pool. He was always a fun and happy presence there. PJ didn't have a wonderful personality and as loved by all who really knew him! Love to you, Jayanna Kelly

The loss of PJ for everyone literally knocks the wind out of me. I have not lived in the Live Oak area for 27 years, as I married a 1985 Judson graduate and he joined the military so we moved all over the world. I look back and remember my entire growing up years and so many memories of PJ bring a smile to my face. The countless hours at the pool. PJ being.... Well PJ. A cut up one minute, helping other swimmers on the swim team the next, acting like a total goofball or plotting some sort of prank. All of those memories will remain with me forever. My condolences to the immediate family for your loss, but also to the Live Oak/Judson family as PJ made sure we all always felt like family.

Although I didn't spend much time with PJ after we graduated High School, I'll never forget how much fun he was. We had many classes together throughout the years & he was especially entertaining when we were learning Trigonometry in the 9th grade.

Some people are such bright stars in your life, that no matter where you go in life, they seem to always be there. From all the memories 35 years ago from the Live Oak poil, to just a month or so ago with PJ encouraging me to find some kind of healthy attitude to being in my 50's, to making my mom laugh with her first 'face-time' chat....that bright star was there. Hos memory will always be that bright star. R.I.P. my friend.

There are no words or sentiments I can possibly come up with. The memories and laughs I have in my head can't justifiably be put in writing. May your family be comforted in knowing what you meant to the people coming out of the woodwork to be with you in the end, and those that'll be there to send you off. This shouldn't have been you, and sure as hell shouldn't have been now. Rest easy, brother.
