Peter Garay Jr. Beloved son and brother, the 'rock' of his family, of New Brunswick, 26 A long time ago in a galaxy not so far away, the spirit of a vibrant young man was born. On April 6, 2018, Peter Garay Jr., 26, of New Brunswick, N.J., left this world for another adventure. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 12, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Wood Funeral Home, 134 E. Main St., Tuckerton, N.J. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 13, at 11 a.m., with a gathering prior, from 10 to 11 a.m., at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, 450 Radio Rd., Little Egg Harbor, N.J. Peter was born on Jan. 8, 1992. He grew up in Little Egg Harbor, where he attended Pinelands Regional High School, was active in both basketball and wrestling, and where he excelled academically. He was passionate about the Dallas Cowboys, skimboarding, snowboarding and was full of life. He loved Star Wars, superheroes and movies, and was considered to be the "rock of our family." Family and friends thought of him as a loving, selfless and caring person who put others before himself. Due to Peter's excellence in education, he earned several scholarships and grants to attend Stockton University, where he graduated with a business degree. This led him to employment at Software House International (SHI) in Somerset, N.J. Peter is survived by his mother and stepfather, Laura and Al Mury; his brothers, Max Garay and Shane Donnelly; his stepbrothers, Christopher, Stephen and Kyle Mury; his father and stepmother, Peter and Michelle Garay, and their daughter, Emily, and cherished girlfriend, Alison Waldron, who shared a mutual love of adventure. Peter was part of a large family of aunts, uncles and cousins and will be greatly missed!
