Peter Gorsky Sr.

PETER GORSKY, SR. Peter Gorsky, Sr, 81, of Beckley, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 23, 2013. Born June 19, 1931 in Scranton, PA to the late John and Mary Butch Gorsky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Virginia Kopec Gorsky; two brothers, John Gurski from Bound Brook, NJ and Joseph Gorsky from Old Bridge, NJ; and a sister, Madeline Bilanin from Linden, NJ. Those left to cherish his memory include a sister, Irene Sworen of Pine Brook, NJ; a son, Peter J. Gorsky and wife, Patricia of Beckley; a daughter, Deborah I. Quinn and husband, John of Beckley; 5 grandchildren, Courtney Wilson and husband, Joshua of Daniels; Bethany Quinn of Beckley, Elizabeth Raney and husband, Brian of Beckley, Mary Crawford and husband, Terry of Beckley, James Suddreth and wife, Megan of Beckley; 7 great-grandchildren, Catelyn and Joshua Wilson, Bailey McIntruff, Lucas Raney, Lakyn and Lani Misch, and Kelsey Suddreth; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mr. Gorsky was a faithful member of Calvary Assembly of God, Beckley. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force in the Korean War from 1952 to 1955 as a Staff Sergeant. He was the owner of Stanaford Tire Shop from 1973 until 1985 and established WV License Service until he retired in 2006. He was employed by Breeze Corp, Ford Motor Company and General Motors all in New Jersey and Lee Norse Corp and an Agent for Peoples Life in Beckley. A service to Celebrate the life of Peter Gorsky will be held at 11:00AM Monday, May 27, 2013 at Calvary Assembly of God, Beckley with Pastor John K. Jordan officiating. Following the services Mr. Gorsky will be entombed at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may gather with the family from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the church.
