Peter Baird HAY

Recently I heard of Peter´s sad passing,I was privileged to have met Peter as your bricklayer on Gt Barrrier, so courageous, love to Jan & all his family

Dear Jan and family we are saddened to hear the news of Peter's passing for those of us who worked for Peter he was always kind and courteous and with a twinkle in his eye ready to have a laugh make us cup of tea and lunch and a beer at the end of the job he will be sorely missed on Great Barrier Island.

Dear Jan and family.
65 years ago my first memories of Peter and his family begin.
His Dad, and sweet gentle Mum Betsy, his older brother David incomprehensively taken by an asthma attack! and Peter.
Pete was a schoolmate of my brother Richard who died aged 26. Pete was a pall bearer.
My Dad Lloyd with my Mum who adopted Millie as their "North Island daughter" (Don't think there was a South Island daughter?!) tried to instil some basic accounting practices for the Ascot Ave flat with agee jars all labelled "rent, power, kitty etc". He failed! But did do a mean g and t!
Fond memories of a lovely family and a big happy smiley Pete! (Bear)

Sorry to hear of the sad passing of your treasured Pete. What a man - he was one of the greats and I have fond memories of him when I was at school with Pen. May you feel peace knowing he has found his and he will be forever with you all guiding and loving you always.
