Peter D. Heck

HUBBARDTON - Peter David Heck, 62, of Hubbardton, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 22, 2017, at the Mountain View Center, following a long illness.
He was born on Dec. 10, 1954, in Jamaica, Queens, NY, the son of Edward and Virginia (Cameron) Heck.
Mr. Heck grew up in Rutland, graduating from the Rutland High School in 1973 and then attended Castleton State College.
He married Susie McCann on June 3, 2000.
Mr. Heck had been employed by the General Electric Co., American Hospital Supply Co. and then for 30 years, at the Skyline Corp., retiring as a division manager in 2007.
He was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed hunting, fishing, gun collecting, and was an avid supporter and very involved with the youth hunting weekend. He was the master of ceremonies for the Lake Hortonia Fishing Derby for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Susie Heck, of Hubbardton; three sons, Christopher Heck and his wife, Abigail, of Essex Junction, Kyle Heck and his wife, Patricia, of Virginia Beach, VA, and Chad Heck and his partner, Jason Rambo, of Gulf Port, MS; his mother, Virginia Heck, of Rutland; a brother, Henry Heck and his wife, Kim, of Rutland; a granddaughter, Calla Heck; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father and a brother, Christopher John Heck Sr., on Jan. 18, 2014.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at The Church of Latter Day Saints, 637 North Shrewsbury Road, North Clarendon.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are by the Durfee Funeral Home.
