Peter Klein

Peter Burr Klein, 86, passed away peacefully at his home on March 15, 2025, in Alexandria, Virginia, just shy of his 87th birthday.

Born on March 29, 1938, in Worcester, Massachusetts, Peter embraced a life led by curiosity, compassion, reflection, and a dedication to helping others. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Suffolk University before embarking on a diverse career that took him across the continent. He initially worked as a business executive and consultant before discovering his true calling as a psychotherapist. With a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University, kindness and compassion, he devoted himself to guiding others through life's challenges.

Peter also served his country with honor. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves and served in the Massachusetts National Guard during his youth. His commitment to service extended beyond the military into every aspect of his life.

A seeker of wisdom and inner peace, Peter found spirituality in poetry and philosophy. Literature was not just a passion but a lens through which he explored the world; he was an insatiable reader. His love for words flowed into his own poetry and philosophical conversations about life's mysteries.

Beyond his professional and intellectual pursuits that energized him, Peter delighted in simple joys-walking amongst nature, sailing, skiing, horseback riding, playing cribbage and bridge, and crafts. He had a keen eye for fashion and an appreciation for cars that reflected his love of both style and craftsmanship.

Among his greatest joys was being a father and a grandfather-roles he cherished deeply.

Peter is survived by his son John, daughter-in-law Nicole, grandson Louis, and sisters Ginny and Mary. He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Virginia and his brother John.

His warmth, compassion, thoughtfulness, and wisdom will be dearly missed by those who knew him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched through his work and the joy he shared with those around him. May his memory bring comfort and joy to all who knew him.
