Beloved Husband, Father & Grandfather
Mr. Peter A. Lanza, Jr., 62 of Southington, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by loved ones. He was the loving husband of Mary (Grey) Lanza.
Peter was born in Cambridge, MA on January 25, 1951, son of the late Peter A. and Ann (Ingelis) Lanza, Sr. He was a graduate of the Kennedy High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted into the United States Army. After being Honorably Discharged from the Army, he worked for the G. Fox Corporation in Hartford as a manager and then left to become a Perishable Warehouse Manager for Bozzuto's, Inc. in Cheshire until his retirement in 1996. In retirement Peter enjoyed traveling with his loving wife Mary, whom he married in 1977, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and taking care of everyone's lawn.
Peter's outpouring kindness is only surpassed by his generosity. His life and actions have become a model for the hundreds upon hundreds of people touched by his strength and love. Never downed by difficult circumstances, Peter always managed to smile and let you know how he "Never had a bad day".
Besides his wife Mary of 36 years, he leaves a loving daughter; Jennifer (Lanza) Humphrey and her husband Jason of Southington, a son; Brandon Lanza and his wife Laura of Plainville, two grandchildren; Nathan and Greyson Humphrey, a sister; Holly LaPlante of Torrington and countless friends, family and loved ones that will all miss him dearly. He is predeceased by a brother Anthony Lanza.
Arrangements: Funeral will be held Saturday, 10:00 a.m. at The Basilica of Immaculate Conception. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. All family and friends are asked to meet DIRECTLY at the Church. Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury has been entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are asked to be made in Peter's name to:
