Peter LOAN Obituary
Peter R. Loan, of Gatineau, passed away in his sleep of heart failure on December 23rd, 2012 in Jerusalem, Israel. Born in Toronto, Ontario on August 13th, 1950, to Russell and Juanita Loan, Peter loved music, dancing tango and spending time with his family. He dedicated his career to improving education by managing various international development projects. He is survived by his mother, his wife Elizabeth, his brother David and sister Cathy, his daughter Julia, his son Christopher, his daughter-in-law Jennifer and his grandchildren Zoë and Vincent. All are invited to a memorial reception at 3 pm on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 12 d'Amour, Gatineau, Quebec. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (http://www.ottawaheart.ca) or the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (http://www.policyalternatives.ca).

Dear Elizabeth and family. We just learned from Al Fernandes, who heard from Gisele Acheson, about Peter's passing. We were shocked and deeply saddened. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Peter was a fun-loving, friend who's company we enjoyed so much and he will be profoundly missed. Had we known in time we would have attended the remembrance service.

Peter, My mate. You are going to be so, so missed. we got to know each other but breifly, but in that time I got to know a warm, kind man. Deeply passionate about life, who knew how to share a joke, a beer, conversation and wisdom. I can't believe we won't be trotting off to the Southern Sun to watch the football any more. Peter, I only knew you but for a fleeting moment and wish it could have been much longer, but I shall be forever grateful that I knew you at all and that I could call you a friend.
