PETER MARKOVICH Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 30, 2014.
Peter Lawrence "Babe" Markovich Age 90, died in his sleep on November 25, 2013, in Tacoma, WA. He was born on August 25, 1923 in Gig Harbor, WA, where he spent his early years. Subsequently he moved to Tacoma, where he married Margaret "Peg" Knudson (now deceased). They had three daughters, Mary Anne of Tiburon, CA, Sonia Candace (now deceased) and Pamela Rita of Arcata, CA. Later he resided in Oakland, CA but returned to Tacoma in his final years. In his youth Babe was a gymnast and a keen baseball player. He appeared in theatrical productions and sang professionally for a time; he retained his superb singing voice until the end. Babe's younger sister Aline lives in Burbank, CA; his other siblings Bob, Georgia and Mary Jane are no longer with us. Babe kept in close touch with his nephews Scott and Bobby Markovich and nieces Kathy Pogue and Judi Schimke. Babe's lively and optimistic personality will be sorely missed by his friends at the apartment complex and by all those who knew him.

My dear father, Babe, always backed me up and always let me know how much he loved me - except when talking about politics!
I can still hear his beautiful singing voice and hope I always will.

A very sweet dear man. My Uncle! I will miss the "spirited" discussions he had with his brother Bob (my Dad). His sense of humor was as marvelous as he was. I will forever miss hearing him sing. Thanks for the memories, Uncle Babe. I love you.
