Perry Kyser Obituary
Gene Kyser, a lifetime resident of Lynn Haven, passed away October 24, 2011.
Gene dearly loved his family and friends. The joy of his life was his wife of 57 years, Joan, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a person that when you met him you liked him immediately. Gene loved to play golf, and was a member of the Panama Country Club. where he had many golfing buddies and many good times. Gene worked for Arizona Chemical Company for 42 years, and enjoyed meeting with his fellow retired employees periodically. He also served his country in the US Air Force, and was a member of the Lynn Haven United Methodist Church.
Gene was predeceased by his mother and father, Annie Elizabeth (Miller) Kyser and Perry Evan Kyser, and his sister, Ruth Desear (Holman).
Survivors include his wife, Joan; daughters, Kim Wilcox of Atlanta, GA, and Karen Arnold (Randy) of Malibu, CA; his grandchildren, Matthew Arnold, Kara Arnold, Gena Stang (Seth), and Holly Wilcox; his great-grandchildren, Parker, Caroline and Grant Stang; his brother, Don Kyser (Peggy); sisters, Louise Brightwell (Bill) and Shirley Folmar (Ray); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will begin at 3:00 PM Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jim Luther officiating. Interment will follow at Lynn Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until service time at 3:00 In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Gene's name to the American Heart Association.
Asked to serve as pallbearers are Don Kyser, Buzz Leonard, Alton Colvin, Paul Henson, Jimmy Peach and Rick Johnson.

Joan, I'm sorry the hear this news and that of Delle. The word SPECIAL doesn't really describe either of them...they were far more than that. I'll say a prayer for you and your family.

I am very sorry for your loss. I remember Gene and your whole family growing up. There was a great sense of community on our blocks. I know my dad enjoyed having him as a friend.

It wasn't until yesterday that we learned of this sorrow in your life. Gene was one of the finest men we have ever met. We know your heart is broken and we are so sorry for this great loss to you and your family and to the PCC community. We are thinking of you and asking our gracious Heavenly Father to provide comfort and peace to you, your family and your many friends.

We remember fondly out teenage and early adult years with Gene. The Kyser family were more like family than friends and we loved them all. It is never easy to lose our loved ones but we find some comfort that we will see them again. You are in our prayers.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our good friend Gene. We are leaving Blairsville Wed morning and will be there for the service on Thursday.
Carver will miss Gene's sharing of his many memories of Bay County...what a treasure trove of stories and connections he had to tell.
We will both miss our good times together as couples, neighbors,golf buddies and good friends.What a loss for all of us.
