PETER J., of Mayfair, on February 20, 2010. Beloved husband of Maureen T. McDermott (nee McGlinchey), devoted father of Patricia A. DeYoung (Patrick), Mary T. McElduff (Dessie), Peter J., Colleen and Sean McDermott, brother of Cassie, Mary, Hugh, Margaret, Patrick, Alice, Sarah, Bridget, James, John and the late Michael Bernard and Annie, loving grandfather of Liam, Conor, Ryan, Michaela, and Natasha. Relatives, friends, employees of Mack Truck, members of the Tyrone Society, the Phila. G.A.A. and the Int'l. Assn. of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local #724 are invited to attend his Funeral Thursday 8:15 - 9:15 A.M. at JOHN F. FLUEHR AND SONS INC., 3301-15 Cottman Ave. Funeral Mass St. Matthew Church, 10 A.M. Rite of Committal Resurrection Cem. Friends may call Wed. Eve. 7-9 P.M. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Lung Assoc., 527 Plymouth Rd. Ste. 403, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.

Hi Maureen & Family,
Our heartfelt sympathy is with you having heard the news of Pete's passing. He was certainly a special man & a great friend to our dad, Dermott. I'll never forget when Brad & I started dating - Brad's Subaru broke down and my dad got right on the phone, dialed Pete's number (knew it by heart) and handed the phone to Brad so they could chat about it :-) Not sure what happened after that, but it was Brad's first impression of Pete, being helpful to even a non-Irish stranger! I'm sure he & my dad are having a great chat in Heaven - yesterday was the 6th anniversary of the date Dermott went missing and today would have been his 92nd bday.
