Peter Duncan Neal

April 24, 1963 - April 13, 2025

Peter Duncan "Pete" Neal was born on April 24, 1963 in Calgary, AB. In his younger years, Pete traveled extensively throughout Canada and the US with his younger brother and best friend, Michael. Pete raised his children, Jon Jon and Jamie, in Winston-Salem, NC before settling down in Murphysboro, IL. Pete passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13th, near his home in Murphysboro, IL.

Pete loved his children and adored his granddaughters. He lived for music, air drums, and a cold beer with a friend. He will be remembered for his generosity, music history knowledge, and carefree spirit. If Pete had a plate of food, his neighbor had a plate of food. He always had time for a phone call or another song. Make it two.

Survivors include: his son, Jon Neal (Carrie) of San Tan Valley, AZ; his daughter, Jamie Crawford (Colin) of Richland, WA; 2 granddaughters, Sunnie Neal, Scout Neal; his mother, Pauline Neal, and two brothers, Stephen Neal and Mark Neal of Okotoks, AB.

Pete joins the angel's choir, preceded by: his father, James Neal; his brother, Michael Neal; and the two loves of his life, Karen Hobby & Wendy Marquez.

In lieu of gathering, the family encourages our friends and family throughout the world to turn up your favorite songs by Rush, The Who, Elton John, The Beatles, James Taylor or Van Halen, and send up a prayer for Pete or a toast "to absent friends."

Then every living being joined the angelic choir. Every creature in heaven and on earth, under the earth, in the sea, and everything in them, were worshiping with one voice, saying: "Praise, honor, glory, and dominion be to God-Enthroned and to Christ the Lamb forever and ever!" Revelation 5:12
