HIGH POINT — Mr. Peter Joseph Policastro, Jr., 81, of High Point, died Friday, June 10, 2011 at Shannon Gray Rehabilitation Facility.
Peter was born October 30, 1929, in Hudson, Co. NJ, a son of the late Peter and Mary Bowers Policastro. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Margot Policastro, a son, Peter Joseph Policastro, III, and a sister Mary Policastro.
Mr. Policastro moved from Long Island, NY, fifteen years ago, were he was associated with the Moose Lodge and the Elks Lodge. He was employed with Amity Dairy-Westchester Farms, Teamsters, Local 584, NY, for 24 years before having to retire due to his health. Peter was a US Army Air Force Veteran. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and ballroom dancing with his wife. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Peter is survived by two sons, Anthony Policastro and wife Leslie of Surfside Beach, SC and Paul Palicastro, Sr. and Cindy Teetor of High Point; a daughter, Laura Nemeth and husband Mark of High Point; one sister, Joan Frontera of Clifton Park, NY; fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 4 p.m., Sunday, June 12 in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point with Rev. Ken Fuehler officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, following the service.
