I knew Peter only briefly as a student of his but was touched deeply by his kindness and love of teaching. He taught me what it was to be a compassionate teacher.

Deepest Sympathy to the family and friends of Mr. Purdue. We all enjoyed our little chats with him when he would drop his clothes off and pick them up from our establishment. He will be missed.

Peter was a bon vivant, an accomplished dialogist, and a brilliant wit. I recall standing with him in Topkapi Palace in Istanbul when he announced that all Saskatchewan was his personal seraglio.
