Peter ROOT Obituary
October 11, 1946 - November 29, 2016
Peacefully at the Hospice Residential Home. Fun and loving husband of Nancy (Johns). Proud father and Grampa of Amy Martin (Barry), Lachlan, Niall and Isabelle. Son of the late Audrey and Lloyd Root. Son-in-law of Stuart Johns and the late Flo (Draper). Brother-in-law of Jo-Anne and Rick Diotte, Beth Johns. Uncle of Stuart (Val), Laura, Kevin, Rory, Devin and Tara (Colin). Great- uncle of Blake, Brooke and Sarah. Pete will be remembered by his brothers Allen (Ruth), Andy (Jessica) and Ted (Bonnie) and their families, aunts, cousins and friends. Special thanks to Ron, Lori and Patty McConnell, and Nancy Kennedy for their constant support and compassion during this 8 month struggle with Glioblastoma cancer during which he never complained. Pete handled every challenge with dignity and humour. Because Pete loved his retirement party so much there will be a re-PETE Tribute at the Riverside Sportsmen Club on December 15, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. Dress is casual camouflage. Donations in Pete's memory may be made to the Hospice of Windsor & Essex County who cared for Pete for 6 weeks and would be greatly appreciated by Nancy & Amy. Cremation services entrusted to the
Cremation Society of Windsor

Nancy and family, I was so very sorry to learn of Pete's passing. I so loved cooking for him and you at Hospice. I can't believe you are gone so soon.You are in my heart forever.Our childhood memories will keep my grief at bay .The times we worked together and played together,always trying to outdo each other ,I will never forget your laugh and all the things you did :taking your motorcycle down the basement ,wrestling with Al and Andy and me,Midland and all those great times,I will always cherish.
