I'm sorry for you lose and I know what its like to lose a loved one. I hope the best for not only you but your family as well. I could tell that your father was a great man by watching his son teach class. Your a very intelligent and brave for standing in front of your family to honor your father. I am truly sorry for your loss. I know there is nothing no one can say to make you feel better. As I got to know you this past couple of months I learned that you are a very bright individual. I can tell your father played a role in who you are. He may not be here physically but he's here with you emotionally. Keep your head up!

Raymond, my dear adopted brother, and the entire Small's family, "Thank you for GIVING to the Lord! I am a life that has been changed!" I echo the same sentiments that my sister Sonia mentioned. We were indeed the adopted sisters and daughters from Portland. You made college life, and internship in the 1970s at THE MONEAGUE endurable for Sonia and I by providing much needed "GET AWAY" weekends, and much much more. Only in eternity will the depths of you and your family's love, caring, giving, friendship, and above and beyond..... be fully understood. Even though early mornings of June 9th, phone calls will not be shared on this side of life, yet, I will remember you, my brother, Raymond. I am comforted by this Word of God, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" ( who conquered death hell and the grave.)

We have traveled a long time together. We are going to miss your cheerfulness, kindness and friendship. Walk good my friend. You will be in our hearts forever.

When I met you and your family in the seventies I was warmly welcomed. The bond had been so great that you became my 'adopted brother' and your parents my 'adopted parents.' I have great memories of Raymond from school, church & the Bamboo Community in general. He , like his parents & relatives, gave to the community his time & skills. We were close friends from Primary School, even before I knew your sister Deborah, who became my wife...The terrible enemy of cancer took hold of you and we watched & prayed for a miracle but God had other plans. Who would have thought that last Tuesday while Debbie and I stood by you in that room you were in the process of transition....Walk good brother and R.I.P.
