Not sure what to say?

Peter, who I always knew as Rocky, was one of the kindest men I ever met. He was a schoolmate of my husbands. He was always generous with his time and counsel and always delightful company. I am sad for Toni and all the Sturtevant family. May his memory be a blessing.

Just viewed the recent documentary your family and you were generous to participate in. I also remember your reporting from Viet Nam. I am sorry you had to endure such suffering in your life.

As I posted on the CNBC Originals Page on Facebook.

Sorry to report the passing of our first VP of News, Peter M. Sturtevant on May 5 at age 76, following a long illness.
For many of us, Peter's passing is especially difficult because he was the one who hired us and started us on our careers at CNBC. Peter could be tough, sometimes curt, but he was the consummate journalist. And I recall so well the first thing he told us in a meeting before we ever went on the air. "There are no good days or bad days on Wall Street. For one person an up day is bad, for another it's good. Take no sides, have no point of view. Be objective and report only the facts with no adjectives to shape something as good or bad, happy or sad news."

We could use a little more of Peter's philosophy these days. Rest in Peace, PMS.

So sorry to learn of Peter's passing. I worked for him at CNBC. May happy memories comfort his family.

My sincerest condolence to you Toni and to your children. Peter literally changed my life when he decided to hire me in 1989. He was tough, he cared and he was a fine journalist. May he rest in peace.
