Peter W. Wendt, 85 of Ft. Myers passed away on March 13, 2014 at his residence from lung cancer.

He was born in Berlin, Germany and came to the U.S. in 1949. He was a successful architect in Manhattan designing high rises and had the good fortune to form an international company called HAUS ( Housing and Urban Services) Inc. Peter semi-retired to Florida in 1982 and continued architecture on Sanibel and Naples for a couple years.

Peter will be missed by his loving wife Brenda Isom Wendt, daughters Genevieve Hauer, Marie Michelle Phillips, Joan (Stephen) Clay, Alyssa Wendt, 4 grandchildren James (Heather) Phillips, Renee' (Travis) Irish, Erik Hauer, Kimberly Hauer, 3 great-grandchildren Tristan, Normandie Rose, and Spencer, Sister-in Laws, Cynthia Moore, Jeanne (Bud)Welch, son-in-law Keith (Dorothy) Blasingim and their children Amy and Lauren.

Peter was a very loving man full of wisdom, life and vision; he enjoyed fishing, boating and traveling.

His intelligence, humor and strength, positive nature is an inspiration to his family and friends. Look to the sky and wave goodbye.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, March 22 at Hodges-Kiser Funeral Home at 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

Brenda and the entire Wendt family - I am so sorry for your loss. The world will never be the same without Peter in it. He always had the best attitude toward life and was the most amazing friend to everyone that met him. He lived the most joyous life and appreciated every minute. I will never be able to express all the gratitude how much Peter was a part of my father's life as a best friend and story teller. xox
