Sadly, I did not learn of your passing until recently. The news hit me with great remorse that I had not followed your life until it's conclusion. I have attended many of your concerts over the years beginning in 1964 at the Aire Crown Theater. My friends and I waited late after the end of the concert and to our surprise we were allowed to go backstage to the dressing room with PP&M. I remember you as engaged with all the fans and encouraging to those aspiring performers. While it is hard to separate the music with your advocacy for social justice, your overall commitment to a better world is truly legendary. As I listened to the music of PP&M tonight, I feel great loss for the music and this bygone era of hope and love sorely missed in these current dark times of injustice, materialism and exploitation of the downtrodden. God bless and protect you and your family.

Tonight I watched the special "50 Years of Peter, Paul & Mary:. I enjoyed it. My oldest sister took me to one of your concerts when I was a little kid. It was a gift for my Confirmation. We also with my sister's boyfriend who she later married. We all had a great time. I still have the program from the concert! RIP Peter. Say hello to Mary for me, I had long straight blonde her like her,

Peter was a friend of my uncle Stan; they played together in the folk scene. I saw Peter at Arise Festival where he was kind enough to read, "Puff the Magic Dragon" to my son. It was so sweet, fans were everywhere, but there he was, interacting with a child who would otherwise be lost in the crowd. It's awesome to see the spirit passed to a new generation.
He will be missed.

I listened to PP&M beginning in the late '60's. I found the three of them to be very important in shaping my moral and political identity. I would possibly remained a conservative to this day, but they rescued me. I saw them in concert several times. With only Noel Stookey alive, I feel a part of me is dying away. Peter's voice was very calming and his words empowered me. I wish his family peace in their loss.

Being a child in the 60s and putting a vinyl album on to listen to and feel safe. Later in life I was privileged to meet and get to know Peter personally via Operation Reapect. I watched him sit with my son before a performance and it lifted my heart.

I will always remember Peter and Paul's performance at the Tribute to Pete Seeger on April 15, 2017 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Afterward, I chatted with Peter and Paul outside the Kennedy Center where fans gathered to greet them. I clearly remember Peter's warm, friendly smile. Thanks for the many meaningful songs, the memories of bygone times, and your activism. RIP, Peter.

Peter and my husband, former Mayor of Atlanta, were like brothers from the Civil Rights days of the ‘60s and ‘70s. We three had remained close friends through the years, visiting in each other’s homes when our activities took us to Atlanta or NYC. There will never be another one like beautiful Peter.

Times with Peter were philosophical, yet, always balanced with a future he anticipated to be better. Never satisfied with the present, he always worked to make the future better - through sound and through personal deeds and educational programs for children. We all lost a friend and a musical genius. May his memory be a blessing and his life the motivations for our young people to emulate.

My wife and I had the fortune/pleasure to have dinner at Peter´s home on 66th street years ago ( like giddy children, he and I were spiking the guacamole with extra hot sauce, because a particular guest was overindulging to the exclusion of all others . . . He was such a prankster, as am I).
But for all our remaining days, we´ll cherish the moment when he picked up his guitar and sat on the couch next to me and Christine and played Puff the Magic Dragon for us.
Peter, we already miss you and know that we´ll sit with you again someday, in a land called Honah-Lee!

Good evening,
I´m a 1961 graduate of Cornell's College of Arts and Sciences, and first learned of Peter while auditing Romp & Stomp in either ´58 or ´59.
We didn´t know each other well for the time until Peter´s graduation in 1959, but our path crossed many, many times in the 65 years since.
I even got to ride in his and Mary´s limo from DC National Airport on the way to a giant anti-war demo in D.C. [We arrived from NYC on the same Eastern shuttle]. I was at an event Peter hosted [and of course sang] at his apartment raising funds to stop handgun violence.
And he performed at a major gala for my high school´s fundraising, when he was campaigning about his desire to improve Respect. And we were at several alumni events as well.
I would very much like to know if a friend [me...] might be able to attend his funeral service.[I didn´t have any success searching for info online].
Thanks in advance for your thoughtful response.

Enjoyed the incomparable Peter, Paul and Mary at The Gate of Horn in the early 1960s on so many visits that this future PhD university professor and NYC and international documentary producer was left with only ONE burning existential question; "Am I a Beatnik?". Still not certain. So happy to have experienced them! Incredible raw talents so entertaining!!

I first saw Peter Paul and Mary at the Carter Barron amphitheater in Washington DC. in 1967. I was a huge fan of the group. They inspired me with their messages, songs, and performances. I went backstage as a fan and was so excited. Peter kissed me and others on the cheek he was a wonderful performer, and I have many fond memories of his songs and his solo performances with the group. I sang puff the magic dragon more times than I can count to my students as a music teacher. Rest in peace, Peter.

Peter's instruction and performance with his son's class at PS6 (which I was also in) was a meaningful and lifelong influence. It's left me with a love of folk music...and ability to do tounge whirls and lip pops (because of Marvelous Little Toy).
