Peter Zaharakos

ZAHARAKOS, PETER N. 78, of Fairmount Ave. Johnston, passed away on Tuesday March 13, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Bakalakis) Zaharakos. Born in Sparte, Greece he was the son of the late Nicholas and Suzanne (Gionis) Zaharakos. Peter was the owner and operator of Athenian Deli on Oaklawn Ave. in Cranston for over 40 years. Besides his wife he was the devoted father of Suzanne M. Zaharakos of Providence, Michael A. Wells and his wife Robin of Cranston, Helena K. Silveira - Zaharakos and her husband Anthony Silveira of Cranston, Nicholas Zaharakos of Providence, Constantine Zaharakos of Providence and Peter M. Zaharakos, Jr. of Miami, FL; loving grandfather of Jamie Lee, Michelle and Arianna; loving great-grandfather of Julianna; and dear brother of Voula Yanarakis of Greece. His funeral will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, followed by a service in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Oaklawn Ave. Cranston at 10a.m. Interment will be at North Burial Ground in Providence.
