Phi Ho Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 30 to Oct. 3, 2006.
HO, Phi 1956 - 2006 Passed away on September 28, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer, Mr. Ho is survived by his wife and best friend of 30 years, Muoi Lam, his mother Hua Xuan Lien, three daughters Linh Chi Ho, Linh Suong Ho-Huang, Linh Man Ho, son David Ho, son-in-law David Huang and grandson Ethan Huang. Mr. Ho and his family are Vietnamese boat people survivors of 1979, they migrated to Canada after a struggling time in a Malaysian Refugee Camp. It is by brave determination for a better life that Mr. Ho rebuilt and established a comfortable life for his family in Canada. He built everything from nothing in the last 27 years through hardwork, persistence and continuous strength. Today, Mr. Ho is the former owner of Laundry Land at Churchill and Byron Avenue. Mr. Ho is an inspiration to many, a fighter of many battles and a man of big dreams. Despite the difficult obstacles in his life, his humour and generosity always brought life and positive energy to his surroundings. He will be missed and always be loved by his family and friends. Friends and family may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, on Thursday and Friday, October 5th and 6, 2006 from 5 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, October 7, at 10 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Many thanks to the Drs., staff and nurses of 5 West and the ICU at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus.

To all who knew Mr. Ho and most importantly to the Ho family and relatives, I send my condolences and prayers. I had the opportunity to meet him once and I saw in him the greatness and love that he passed on to those that knew him in particular his wife and children. I am forever grateful to have been in a small part of Mr. Ho's life.

I share some of the sadness that his family and those who knew him are feeling, and hope that the pain of his passing will not linger as we know that he is in a better place.

One of the fondest memories I have of Mr. Ho is when he went out in the freezing cold dressed up as Santa (I'm sure if there was a chimney he would have used that instead of the front door). He always brought a smile to our faces. The memory of him will always be in my heart.
