I knew Phil as I was in the nursing for recovery after being hit by a car and I met Phil he came up to me and said "You look like you need a friend my is Phillip but you can call me Phil." He really was a nice person help encourage me to get out bed and go to rehab every day possible. I owe him and my family for the quick recovery. Sadly I haven't seen him in forever since golden living nursing home do to having COVID off and on. My Dearest sympathies, Shaine Shaffer

We send our sympathy and prayers in your family's time of loss.

Phil and Betty shined for Jesus in so many ways. They showed our family love and kindness when we moved to Indianapolis and came to Burge by welcoming us to the church. Betty's love for teaching children encouraged me as I saw how faithful and joyful she was in the classroom.

May the Lord comfort your family at this time.

Pastor Aguilar was a wonderful Pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Mohawk, IN. During my grade school years, I remember the four church buses that were quite full most Sundays for Sunday School and children’s church. Most vivid memory of Pastor Phil was his chalk talk drawings. Loved his energy, kindness, and Jesus’ ways in his example.

Uncle Phil and Aunt Betty will be greatly missed. I will always remember being a kid and Uncle Phil would come in close to tell me a joke or to talk about his football days with that raspy voice of his. Aunt Betty had such a great laugh and was just always happy. I don’t remember ever seeing her without a smile. It is so good to know that they both loved God and are now worshipping Him in Glory and forevermore!
