Missing you. RIP

Luan, so sorry to learn of Phil's passing. I never got to know him that well, but was blessed to have a little time around him, Royce R. introduced him to me there at Sam Rayburn. His song List of the People you Love is frequently floating around my head. Best of all things to you.

I had known Phil since I was a small kid.

By chance just discovered Phil's obituary on the internet. Very fond memories as we first met when I landed my first Radio Announcer job at KSPL in Diboll, Texas back in the early 70's. Left a tremendous impact on my life. A true musician at heart. Our deepest condolences to the family.

So sorry to hear of Phil's passing. He was a great friend of my brother, Joey Jay Koleng in Galveston and a wonderful family friend!

Phil played many roles in my life. He was my mentor, my program manager (KLNx),my traveling companion, my guidance counselor (scary huh), my back up band/singer, my partner in music as well; but above all of this, Phil was my friend and I love & will miss him dearly.

May God be with you and yours during this time and always.

Mr. Parr was so loved by my Father, O. D. Reynolds. They shared a love for music. Phil was an outstanding roll-model to my father when he lost his sight in 1970. Thanks for the memories Mr. Parr. If musicians gather in Heaven, my Dad will see you there.

I worked with Phil at KSPL for many years. He taught me more about radio and radio production than any college or university. Time will never erase the memories we shared in the production room, creating commercial. He was one in a million, and there will never be another.....atmar lester

I'm so sorry to hear of Phil's passing. A loss to the music world and to the blind community.

Growing up Phil was like my crazy Uncle. Loved him dearly and the world has surely lost a great man. Prayers for the family!

Luan, I am so very sorry. Your husband was a remarkable man, so gifted, and from everything I have heard about him, a kind and decent human being. The loss of a man like Phil is a great sorrow for everyone. I deeply regret the ill health that prevented me from visiting Lufkin more often; I would have loved to have met him.

So long, "Chief", you will be missed. Wish I could be at your party on May 2, but I will long cherish the many good times we had together. Each was a party unto itself. As I said my old friend, you will be missed.

Dear LouAnn and family,
As a young girl I remember listening to Phill an tv with my grandmother she loved his program. I never in a million years thought I would ever meet him. Then by chance I was working in Woodland Heights Hosp. and I got the pleasure of having him as a patient. Althought I was just the phlebotomist drawing his tests he was so nice and friendly. The first time I met him I thought to myself granny would have loved to meet him as well. He was a true movie star in our eyes young and old. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
He was truly a sweet person.
