To the family, many, many friends and colleagues of this nice man Phil Wiggins fine comfort with you during this difficult time in your lives. Phil Wiggins was a master of the blues harmonica known for his long musical partnership with guitarist/vocalist John Cephas (1930-2009). We will miss Phil Wiggins' presence and his many contributions to his community as a musician. May the love and the special memory you shared and cherish with him show just how much your life was touched by him. May you find comfort in your wealth of fond memories together with Phil Wiggins. May the God of comfort bless your grieving hearts with strength, loving kindness and peace as the world copes with the loss of Phil Wiggins. He will be greatly missed, but his talent as a guitarist will not be forgotten. May family, friends and extended family cherish his memories.

Rudy Robertson , 72 yr old country blues fan , My wife Anna & I first lived together in early 1980´s in Hyattsville , Prince Georges Vounty, MD, just a few miles from Takoma Park. It was a glorious blue sky summer sun radiating day we went down to the Wash DC Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the DC Mall,
and walking twds this absolutely incredible
sound of a heavenly Piedmont blues voice guitar( John Cephas) as we arrived and sat in grass right at the feet of this mind
mesmerizing duo , a yonger Phil Wiggins
jumped in bending like prayers his viscerally spiritual Piedmont guitar driven country
blues harmonica and Literally, We got chicken skin goose bumps , neck hair vibrations as we were Teleported to a country blues zone we had never teached before. Well, in One Word: WOW!!!!!!
I was just 30 yrs old and can still Hear and feel that experience , their cool as cool can be hot performance. Lifelong fans, got to see them live up close just a few times more as we returned to our native Brooklyn NY
lives , one time later 1980´s they Uplifted a large outdoor audience at the Lincoln Center Summerstage Damrosch Park festival. Again our spirit was Elevated by their heavenly sound. I Still regularly play my vinyls of their Superb Dog Days of August and Guitar Man albums. So,
Peace, Love, and Gratitude to the Extraordinary Entity Spirit that was Phil Wiggins and to all his loved ones shared life with him. Thank You.

In the 1990's I took a Blues Harmonica class at the Augusta Heritage Center from Phil Wiggins. He taught me his slow 12 bar blues song "Tone Down" which I love to play. Every time I play it, I think of him and his fantastic harmonica tone!
