Philip L. Bleich, 71, of Columbus passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at his home. Phil was born February 7, 1946, the son of Harold and Ethel (Brewer) Bleich. He was a 1964 graduate of Columbus High School. Phil was married to Diane Helwig on June 13, 1970. He was employed with Enerpac in Columbus for 45 years until his retirement in 2011. Phil enjoyed traveling especially to Las Vegas, Eagle River and Wisconsin Dells with his family. He enjoyed watching and attending NASCAR and other races and was an avid Badger, Packer and Brewer fan. Phil loved drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon and buying and talking cars. Phil is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Diane of Columbus; his son, Bruce (Marcie) Bleich of Beaver Dam; his grandchildren: Brittany (fiancé Jordan Rasmussen) Bleich and Thomas Bleich; his brother, Donald Bleich of Columbus; his mother-in-law, Veronica Helwig of Columbus; his brother-in-law, David (Ann) Helwig; sister-in-law, Pamela (Trent) Williams; his nephew, Donnie Bleich; his niece, Lori Tesch; very special friends, Howard and Sue Weissmann; as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial gathering will be held at the United Methodist Church in Columbus on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3 p.m. Rev. Kim Brumm will officiate. A private family entombment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Phil's family would like to extend special thanks to UW Hospital, Columbus Hospital, Poser Clinic, and Agrace HospiceCare.

Dear Diane and family....I am sending you my deepest sympathies for your loss. Phil was always wearing a smile on his face and making light of every situation. He was a fun loving friend and classmate. I always enjoyed talking with you both. Phil now rests in the arms of his Savior and has peace and comfort. God bless and keep you in His care.
