We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Brown Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to troops in Afghanistan this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Philip D. Brown US Army Specialist. The Memorial Garden will be encircled with larger white crosses representing all of the wars of our nation's history and give honor to all who have served in the United States Armed Forces and made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today. Wreaths will be placed at the foot of each 8-foot cross bearing the number of U.S. Service Members killed in each of America's conflicts.

I would like to extend to your family an invitation to honor us with your presence at worship as we pay tribute to the sacrifice made by your service member and family. Our pastor, Kenneth L. Beale, Jr., will preach a message entitled, “Freedom:Free, but Costly.” At the conclusion of the worship hour, all of the congregation will be invited to silently pay their respects at the garden and there place poppies at each of the crosses. A Memorial Rifle Squad of the Fort Snelling National Cemetery will fire vollies as the US flag is lowered to half-staff and Taps is played. I just happened upon this site this evening. It's hard to believe it's been over 5 years since Phil passed away. I still remember the boating trips on the lake, camping at Smokey's, and will forever remember our Hoopster games. Phil was an amazing one of a kind individual, and I can honestly say, not a day goes by that I do not think of him.

Spc Brown served with my daughter, Kellie Kulseth. Kellie called me the morning Phil died. She and Phil were very good friends and she had never experienced such a tragedy. My heart goes out to Phil's family. From what I have heard from Kellie and from what I have read, Phil was quite a wonderful son. I am grateful for his service to protect and defend our country. My heartfelt sympathy as you continue to move forward since your great loss.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. To the family of Spc. Philip D. Brown:

The Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel Foundation will be honoring your loved one at the non-denominational Memorial Day Sunday worship service at 11:00 a.m. on 28 May, 2006. We will remember the casualties of the Global War on Terrorism from Minnesota … and the neighboring states of Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Outside of the historic Fort Snelling Veterans Memorial Chapel will be a “Memorial Garden” filled with white crosses bearing the names of the war dead … including your loved one.



I would like to extend to your family an invitation to honor us with your presence at worship as we pay tribute to the sacrifice made by your service member and family. Our pastor, U.S. Army Chaplain, LTC Kenneth L. Beale, Jr. will preach a message entitled “What Are We to Remember?” At the conclusion of the worship hour, all of the congregation will be invited to silently pay their respects at the garden and place poppies at each of the crosses. An honor guard squad will be on hand to fire vollies as the US flag is lowered to half-staff and Taps is played.



As this Christian worship service has traditionally been well attended, we would be happy to reserve seating for you and yours. I was one of the nurses that took care of this man. I remember the day that he came to our hospital as me and my team worked on him in the OR to try and save his life. To this day I still carry the memory of this young man in my heart and live every moment as if was my last. He was sent to me to remind me that life is to be enjoyed.

My brother Curtis Klein was on the same unit as Phillip and I know that he was deeply hurt when Phillip was killed, curt wasn't too far from where it happened. Phillip also worked with my sister Julie mayhair in Jamestown at Applebees and she always said very nice things about Phillip. I didn't meet him, but he is always in my heart and I am very sorry for your loss.

Phil was the person, no matter how bad you felt would try his hardest to cheer you up and always succeeded. I served in country with Phil and the 141st and I wish the best for his family and send all condolences to them. Thank you.

I graduated from Jamestown College in 2003 and had several classes with Phil. He was always one of the nicest students in the class and always offered to help professors and students. His love and passion for sports, art, and music was unquestionable. I was truly saddened when I heard the news and want to send my sympathies to his family and close friends. Words cannot express this profound loss.

My prayers go to the family of Philip Brown. The loss of a child is the worst loss a parent can go through. My husband had lost his son to a tragic vehicle accident about 10 years ago; Taylor would be 23. I pray that God will give your family the strength to meet each day with the courage to continue. As a mother of a 22-yr-old son in the Air Force serving our wonderful nation, I have a peace within me that he is doing his job to the best of his ability and has great pride in doing so. May the Lord continue to bless your home and your family.
