I have just read that Philip Chaganis has passed away.

We first met in 1972 when he was the "Skip" to 19 AYT Catterick Garrison. 19 AYT moved to Hartlepool in November 1972. My husband worked with Skip until we were posted to 20 Maritime Regiment RCT in Gosport in 1973. Skip was a very kind man, 19 AYT had great admiration for him. As a newly-married Army wife, I made sure Skip had a plentiful supply of homemade cake. I still have the letter he wrote to my parents on behalf of 19 AYT explaining why none of the team could attend our wedding.

He was a very fine man.

My condolences to his widow and family.

Denise, so sorry to hear of Philip’s sudden death.
You’re in my thoughts at this very sad time xx
