Philip Coderre Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 6, 2025.
Philip William "Phil" Coderre passed away on February 26, 2025. Born on August 4, 1957, he grew up in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Philip lived a life filled with love, laughter, and deep connections.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Emily Coderre; his son, Kristian Coderre; his daughter, Allie, and her wife, Emily. Philip also leaves behind three sisters-Marie Kulig, Irene Mongeau, and Christine Coderre-as well as many lifelong friends who cherished his presence.

Phil worked in the home improvement industry for over 40 years. He found joy in spending time outdoors, motorcycling and fishing were great passions of his. Phil made one of his life's dreams come true nearly 20 years ago when he made a cross-country trek on his motorcycle from Conway, MA to Denali National Park, Alaska. In recent years, he and Emily resided on Nantucket Island where Phil took full advantage of being able to drive his truck onto the beach and enjoyed hours of fishing and running his dog Trigger.

Philip was the true embodiment of the phrase "life of the party." With a big heart, quick wit, and a booming voice that could fill any room with joy, he had an extraordinary ability to bring people together. His infectious laugh and unwavering kindness made him unforgettable to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His many lifelong friendships stand as a testament to his character-he lived life to the fullest, made sure those near to him knew they were loved, and always followed his own moral compass's true North.

Honoring Philip's wishes, no formal funeral services will be held. Instead, family and friends will gather for a celebration of life in the Northampton area this May. Details will be shared with loved ones closer to that time.

Philip's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May we all remember him with joy and celebrate the incredible life he lived.

In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Phil's deep love of dogs, donations can be made to Mutt Rescue, Inc. 102 Grove St., Chicopee, MA 01020.

Bob and I and our kids could not be sadder at loosing Uncle Phil too soon.

These words could not be more true "Philip was the true embodiment of the phrase "life of the party." With a big heart, quick wit, and a booming voice that could fill any room with joy"

Sending everyone our love.

My brother, my friend, could always make me laugh even at the worst times. The minute he opened his mouth you wanted to be his friend, as is evident with the number of friends he left behind. He loved his best friend and lifetime partner, his wife, Emily, and is very proud of his children, Allie and Kris, who are very like him. I miss him and hope to see him again.
Love,
Monnie Kulig

A fitting tribute, a better brother could not be had! I always knew that he had my back, such good times together, and I truly cannot remember a cross word ever, that was not his way. He loved his family and his friends and was loved back in full measure and will be missed very much.
