Philip DeStephano Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 17, 2023.
In Memory of Philip DeStephano, November 1950 - May 2019. Philip graduated from Moultrie High School in 1969, and attended Armstrong State College from 1972 to 1975. He was briefly in the US Airforce in 1972, completing basic training at Lackland Airforce Base. He began working in the jewelry industry at age 13, and honed his skills to become a master goldsmith, stone setter, estate jewelry refinisher, gold buyer, and retail salesman. After working as a master jeweler in Moultrie (Braswell Jewelry) and Savannah, Georgia (Levy Jewelry), he worked for corporations specializing in tools, equipment, and supplies for retail jewelers, and later for America's Auction Network TV. In addition to Moultrie and Savannah, he later lived in Biloxi, Mississippi and St. Petersburg, Florida. Not only a master jeweler, he was a skilled boat captain, photographer, pilot, and firearm collector. He had a long passion for scuba diving and boating. He was a generous person and friend to many. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Christopher and Iris DeStephano of Moultrie, and brother Sherryl Chris DeStephano. He is survived by a brother, Don, adopted daughter, Jacqueline, grandson Brayden, granddaughter Sydney, as well as first cousin Serena Owens, who grew up with him in Moultrie and was like a sister. His remains are at rest at a location in Moultrie.
