Philip Heustis Diehl

As a newcomer many moons ago Phil was always someone I looked up to in awe at how he always was smiling and truly happy to see everyone. That "last house on the block" was made a home because of people like Phil.

Phil was a gentle and enlightened soul. His wonderful sense if humor was accompanied by a marvelous laugh. I will miss his almost yearly renditions of how he learned of my arrival just three days before his own birthday, during mail call when he was at boot camp, thus making him a first time uncle. He was excited to announce it. He also became my God father.
I will always be able to hear his voice in my memory.
