My sympathy to the whole MCCrory clan. Phil and I adopted each other as brother and sister when we worked at Veteran's Hospital together as teenagers. We remained close friends throughout the years, even though I lived far away. He was a wonderful man who loved his family, always had a smile and a word of wisdom. I shall miss him very much.

My sympathy to the entire MCCrory clan. Phil and I adopted each other as brother and sister when we were volunteers together at Veteran's Hosp. We remained close throughout the years even though I lived far away. I shall miss my friend and "brother" very much. He had one of the kindest souls on this planet and will not be forgotten. His memory lives on.

I feel privileged to have known Phil. He was my cousin and my friend. We shared childhood and our teen years together along with Dennis, Gerry, John Peter and my three brothers and the rest of the Shambra, Naccari and Rooney cousins. There are so many memories of great times and conversations among the many generations.
Phil was a leader whom you always looked forward to seeing and talking to. Whether he was hunting for rare mushrooms with his family, or developing alternate fuels, or working long hours to care for the distressed in the state, or kicking back at the Jazz Fest, Phil led a dynamic life in his kind, calm and humble way.
It is true, Phil touched many lives and he certainly touched mine and my family. He has joined the family on the other side and goes on to explore the wonders of the life beyond in our Father's house.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, Colette and sons, Dennis, Gerry, Allie and family. Phil set the example we should all follow until we see him again.

Phil was the nicest guy I ever knew. When confronted with short-sightedness and stupidity he didn't get mad, he just shook his head and smiled. State offices have at least one person who wants to do his job and wants to serve the public. Phil was that person at the state pharmacy although he would be the first to downplay praise and share credit with his fellow workers. Phil saw the shape of the future. While Reagan was taking down the solar panels at the White House, Phil was wiring solar panels at his house. The creation of Cool Brew was typical Phil; imagination plus execution. Our world is a smaller and darker place without Phil's smile. Our country is diminished by the loss of his wisdom.

Phil was an absolutely exceptional person. It is rare to meet people like Phil with so many close connections to so many people. He was always dedicated to his job, his business, and his family. He was a devoted leader in every aspect. Tomorrow we gather with friends and family for the official so long. He will forever live in our memories. I will deeply miss you my friend, everyone’s friend.

I was a clerk in Phil's office for a couple of years way back in the eighties.
It's a time I recall with much fondness, and Philip was a good boss--intriguing because of his many diverse interests.
Please accept my condolences to the entire family.

Phil was like a brother to me. In the old days, when we were youngsters together, he was always the calm voice of reason and kindness.
Later on, he became so accomplished, and yet remained so humble. We are all saddened by the loss of this truly good man and friend. Ruth Gallo and the entire Gallo Family

Colette & Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Phil's passing. I retired several years ago but worked with Phil from 1980-2006. My heart goes out to all of you. He was such a great person and wonderful to work with. He and I had many conversations about our boys as I had 2. I will keep you all in my prayers. I am saddened to not be able to be able to be there. My prayers will be with all of you.

Phil will certainly be missed by so many. I have worked with Phil for 30 years and always looked forward to seeing him at meetings. If I needed to talk to the state pharmacy, I knew I could count on Phil! He had such a great personality and a great love for his work. He has touched so many lives... more than anyone will ever know. He will truly be missed.

Our sincere sympathy goes out to Colette and family. Much has been said about Phil. Time, careers and the usual things separated us after college until a few years ago. While visiting the city, we had lunch and visited for several hours. Phil, Lou, Jim , Jan and I grew up during our interesting teen years. It was a time we shaped one another in ways we did not understand at the time. Perhaps even now. Phil as well as the others is one of my friends. Like many things in life, we took each other for granted at the time. How sad. But Phil is not sad. Phil is joy. His gift was finding joy in what others found ordinary. His passing comes with the natural grief and loss but also the opportunity to relish the memories he gave us. They are with us till we leave.
This morning I realized the hummingbirds are slowly leaving for the winter. They are absent but not gone. I suspect Phil is absent but certainly not gone from our hearts and minds.
Thank you Phil for being Phil. You asked for little and gave so much.
Take The Love of God With You.

OPH will not be the same without Phil's name listed as the State Pharmacist. I knew him for most of my 33 years with OPH and always found him to be open and friendly. After reading his obituary, I am certain his passing will leave a void in his family larger than any in OPH, but I could not let this time pass without letting you know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

My deepest sympathies to Collette and the entire beautiful McCrory clan. Phil was my cousin and very near my family from the time of his birth and through our early childhood. Our paths grew apart through the years, but I always knew he was a phonecall away, or e-mail more recently. Phil was both cousin and friend to me. His life was an example of what could be accomplished with interest and energy. He was someone his whole family loved and came to count on. He will be greatly missed.
