Philip Carl Snyder

Philip Carl Snyder, born in Southington, Ohio on January 25, 1946, died peacefully on January 20, 2025 at the age of 78. He lived the majority of his life in Windham, Ohio.

Philip graduated from Windham High School in 1964 and Kent State University in 1978.

In between, he served two tours of duty in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam before he was honorably discharged.

Over the years, Philip was an active member of the Windham community, where he served on the Village Council and School Board, taught Sunday school, volunteered in many way, was a proud member of American Legion Post 674 and coached a state championship-winning softball team.

To hundreds of Windham school children across decades, he was Santa Claus.

He loved spending time and traveling with his soulmate Deborah.

He is preceded in death by his parents Carl I. Snyder and Mary Alice Snyder, his brother Kenneth Snyder, his granddaughter Maggie Kesling, and his wife Deborah (Justham) Snyder.

A loving family man, Philip is survived by his adoring children Jennifer Snyder (Jack) and Philip Snyder II (Alma), stepdaughters Rhonda Kesling (Wally), Christie Shelby (Chris) and Angela Peletin (Mike) and grandchildren Taylor, Allison, Jordan, Cassie, Parker, Olivia, Savannah, Hailey, Emily, Kayla, Lilah, Jay, Zayn, Nick, Jackson and Maya. He is also survived by his siblings Mary Alice (Susie) Lane, William John Snyder, Patricia Evans, Margaret (Peggy) Hacker, Patrick Snyder, Deborah Giron and Elizabeth Horton and many nieces and nephews

Celebration of Life will be held on 4/5/25 at the Windham American Legion post 674 following a funeral at the Windham, Ohio cemetery starting 11:00 a.m.
